Just as I was about to publish a story I broke on a Scoutmaster being kicked out of the Boy Scouts of America because he is gay, I was contacted by a family saying their son, 19, had been denied employment at a BSA summer camp because the boy’s friends had written posts on Facebook suggesting he was gay. Here is the story, developed over a few weeks of research, which revealed a new wrinkle in the Boy Scouts’ policy allowing gay youth – but to adults to join.
