The latest in my coverage of the Gregory-DiMartino family, survivors of the Boston Marathon. Rebekah had her leg amputated on Monday. I spoke with her over the weekend before the surgery. Despite the 17 surgeries she has undergone, the nearly 19 months she has waited, and the pain she has endured, she has such a positive outlook – which her doctor says will help with her recovery. Have a read, she has a lot to say about her plans as an amputee:
“I’ve never been a runner, an outdoors person, but now I want to climb mountains, I want to run marathons. I want to do anything and everything that you can do with your legs, because it makes me appreciate them so much more now,” she said. “I still have a lot of living left to do.”
